Nashville, TN—New Haven Records recently announced the much-anticipated return of Joshua’s Troop to gospel radio with their new single, “Another Chance,” co-written and produced by Percy Gray, Jr. (New Direction, Chicago Mass Choir). This song is their first new release since they earned a 2017 Stellar Award for “Youth Project of the Year” for It’s My Time.
The incredibly contagious track opens with an upbeat horn section punctuating Gray’s voice leading Joshua Troop’s signature contemporary youth choir harmonies. Later in the song, Gray passes the lead vocals off to Gerald Moore (G Moe) whose dynamic style underscores the song’s inspiring message of redemption. An alternative mix of “Another Chance” features rapper D Nell kicking the track into high gear.
Manuella Clay, the group’s manager comments, “Joshua’s Troop continues to innovate with age—making amazingly relevant music in 2018 with the timeless hope of the gospel. We can’t wait for our friends and fans to hear this fresh track.”
Originally founded as a youth choir to provide urban Chicago teens a positive alternative to gang and street life, the Troop’s electrifying blend of contemporary, R & B, and hip-hop influences resulted in the smash radio hit, “Everybody Clap Your Hands,” a Stellar Award nomination, and millions of YouTube views. Collectively, Joshua’s Troop has garnered tens of millions of YouTube views from nearly 100 video performances. As such, New Haven Records is readying a new lyric video of “Another Chance” for release in conjunction with the radio single.
Snoopy Hanna of Mighty Dominion Entertainment agrees, “This single has ‘hit’ written all over it: contagious melody, irresistible groove, fresh production, and heartfelt message!”
New Haven Records president Ken Harding concludes, “’Another Chance’ is the debut single from a whole new Joshua’s Troop album that’s in production for a November release. This song has already garnered 1.6 million views on Facebook! If this track is any indication, it’s going to be an unforgettable project.”
