Chicago Mass Choir scores 2 Dove Award nominations!

The Gospel Music Association recently announced that the world-renowned Chicago Mass Choir is a finalist for Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for “Thank You, Thank You Jesus” and Traditional Gospel Album of the Year for We Give You Praise. Winners in each category wlll be revealed at the 47th Annual Dove Awards to be held October 11, 2016 in Allen Arena at Lipcomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dr. Feranda Williamson, the president and CEO of the choir was elated: “It is truly an honor to be among the final nominees for the prestigious Dove Award.  We are blessed to be included with such great and anointed artists that are recognized for their service for kingdom building.”

“Thank You Thank You Jesus,” writen by the album’s producer Percy Gray, Jr., helped the CD debut at the #1 spot on Amazon Best Seller’s Gospel Praise and Worship Chart and #11 on the Amazon Gospel Music Best Seller’s Sales Chart. Since the release of the project, lyric and performance videos have generated more than half a million YouTube views, adding to the more than 20 million views for other chart-topping hits like “Holy Ghost Power,” “I Pray We’ll Be Ready,” “Mighty Good God,” and “God is My Everything.”

In addition to their impressive radio and video success, Chicago Mass Choir recently performed on BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel 2016 Finale show, headlined the Chicago Gospel Music Festival, and completed a 17-city concert tour of Spain. They were also voted Entertainer of the Year at the 2016 Chicago Music Awards.

These nominations are a testimony to the group’s enduring excellence as well as to the enthusiasm of the traditional gospel music audience.”
